CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a newly established Investment Firm in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit an AML & Regulatory Compliance Officer to join their expanding team. The successful applicant will be a Qualified Lawyer and possess 5+ years’ of relevant professional experience in an in-house legal capacity, ideally working for an Investment or related firm. Legal professionals with strong knowledge of AML & Regulatory Compliance under CySEC are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee fund structuring, fund documentation, and coordinate with investors and clients on legal matters and side letter agreements.
  • Review and coordination with external counsel of AIF offering documents.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance with applicable legislation and directives.
  • Establish and implement procedures aiming to achieve comprehensive and continuous compliance with the regulatory framework and internal policies.
  • Prepare and submit written compliance reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments that may have implications for business initiatives, strategy, and performance of the AIFM and its funds.
  • Assist with regulatory change and other projects to embed evolving regulation.
  • Design the internal AML measures, procedures and controls.
  • Develop, review, and monitor the Clients’ acceptance policy, and prepare and maintain the Client list categorized following the Risk Based Approach.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Company’s officers, the Fund Administrator and other persons engaged in the business activities of the Company on AML matters.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual reporting to CySEC as required.
  • Provide support with upcoming transactions including new investments and financing, coordinating with external counsel, and other third parties as required
  • Legal entity management ensuring all corporate and governance documents are prepared or filed with the relevant authorities accordingly.
  • Drafting, and negotiating client and third-party service provider agreements.
  • Review of the Investor subscription, redemption, and transfer documents.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to colleagues, either leading or supporting initiatives of varying scope and complexity.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Strong academics, and a trained lawyer with 5+ years’ overall experience.
  • Experience working with the fund industry and CySEC or as in-house counsel within an investment management firm.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills with ability to provide practical advice relating to complex regulatory matters.
  • Proactive, solutions driven and flexible to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, and a team player, confident in dealing with people
  • Highly motivated and result-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • CySEC AML Certificate / registration in CySEC AML Compliance Officers Register desirable.
  • Experience in private equity or real estate desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Greek.
